As I understand, the CA18DET switches to batch fire injection at 4000RPM. Furthermore, the meaning of this is that the injectors fire in batch, as opposed to individually timed intervals. Please correct me if I am wrong. What I want to know is:1. Is this necessarily a bad thing?2. If yes, how do you fix it?3. Does the Power FC maintain this method?

Thanks for the help, and sorry for the ignorance. I have decided that I need to really learn this engine as now that it is running stable, I am ready for more power than the intake/exhaust is giving me.

i do know that a lot of cars to switch to batch fire at one point or another, however i don't know at what rpm it does it. its not really a bad thing, in fact the SDS stand alone system is batch fire 100% of the time. or at least i think it used to be, i dunno if they changed this. anyway, all it really does is causes bad fuel economy. there might be small power gains to be had if you go full sequential injection but i'm no pro on this subject.

By having batch fire (or group fire) injection, you are not losing much fuel efficency. It is much simpler for the ecu to do.The new cars have direct injection which fires each injector onto the back of the inlet valve as it is opening. This is pretty much the best way to do it, but would require a lot of fabrication to make the manifold and a bit of fiddling with the ecu.

Below 4000, its individual to make as much torque as possible. after that it dosent really make much difference. Most after market ecu's are group fire. Many of the ones i have seen/worked with have the option of 2 groups of 2 or 1 group of 4.

Sorry if im rambling, but you kinda get the picture
