ok I have a 1984 200sx. I bought the car with a fuel problem. The problem was that it ran too rich. After months of tinkering with this car we think it is in the fuel injectors. Basically all 4 injectors like to continuously spray fuel. We have tried a lot of stuff to fix this. We think it might be the ECU. Any other thoughts on this? Thank you.

Sorry forgot to add this:

It doesn't always do this. Occasionally it will start up and run great. I mean almost like new. We drove it around for about 3 days recently and then it went right back to not running, or running extremely rich. I mean black smoke so thick you can't see.

you need to check for signal to the injectors. if the signal is normal then it would be in the injectors. also pull the rail and turn key on to check for leakage.

Well the signal is mssed up. It doesn't pulse at all. All 4 injectors get power at all times. This is how we came up with the all 4 injectors fire constantly theory. I have located a computer and am going to try that. I hope and pray that it works. Anybody else have any thoughts?

that sounds like a short. unplug ecm and check again. that way if it still has power to all injectors you know that you better not plug in that good ecm! there is not much control logic in the ecm that would tell it to go wide open so if the signal does come from it you prob just need to replace it.

Thanks man. I still am not sure what to think about this car. I havent had the money to get the ECU. Last I remember they are supposed to get a constant power feed, but the ECU makes them Pulse. Not 100% on that. Still trying to work out the bugs. Need to get it running soon. My friend wants it pretty bad. I need the money for a truck. Any other thoughs are still very much appreciated.
