I think this mite be because its late but I wanna swap an RB26 with an RB25 transmission into my s14. I'm not talking since I wanna drift with it or make mad power but I'm thinking a basic swap. How much would a basic swap with the needed mods be for an RB26? Like I wanna keep stock turbos, injectors, cams and all. It will still be a fun motor and I think that I could possibly get a good resale value since I did the hard part and if I keep it close to stock I think some buyers mite be more interested since they can do what they want to it. What do you think. I mean, wouldn't you consider a close to stock RB26 that already been swapped for a reasonable price? Plus it would be a fun azz ride. Thanks

expensive. more than the car is worth. $10k give or take. but it seems to be roughly the average. all relative ofcourse.

10k is about correct. If you are going to invest that much you should do Full-Race's AWD conversion. It is around 10 and will effectively mkae your 240 into a Skyline. The 10k price doesnt include an RB26 but that can be had for 3k ish. So for 5k more than a RWD RB26 swap you can have an AWD one. Deal in my books. On another note this question is asked daily and almost any question you have can be answered by using the search button at the top flashing red.

i'll look at that, what do you think on the resale value? I know it will be less then I paid...a lot less. I'll search around and if there are any questions I cant find via search i'll hit you up in this thread.Anyone else?

personally dude im not sure from experience how much a rb26 s14 sells for but I've heard of others but cars for around the 10k for another swapped cars. i think it depends on finding the right person. like if u find someone that understands how much it costs and wants one but doesnt wanna do the work then u might get your money back.

awd conversions isn't 10k. to get the absolute stock setup and their cheapest setup equals around 20k complete.

12k for setting car to be awd then probably 5k for front clip then maybe u can find one for 300 for the rear end. then the chassis can be from 500-5k. ya not 10k sorry.

if u really want the swap then do it. dont let people bring u down but search as well cuz a lot of answers can be answered for u.

yea, an AWD swap is too much for me. I'm gonna just do a RWD version. To do a AWD conv. ur self and not have a motor its 12k. Anyone know if I can get the speedometer to work?

wire it up and it will work

doing these swaps isnt like flipping houses. you cant honestly expect to do what many sick drifters think is the "god of all swaps" and expect anything more than half of what you put in to it.

So I am just wondering, what is it that you want out of a swapped car? Is this going to be a daily driver, drag, drift, auto cross??

As someone who did an RB25 swap, I think the best thing you can do before you make any decision is to figure out what you want out of this.

Having a RB26 240 will be cool and all, but considering it will be stock and RWD instead of modified or AWD, it is kind of like having a hot girl friend that doesn't put out. Your friends will think you are cool, but you will always know your not

LOL good luck with you decision.

LOL, thanks. I'm gonna take it to some drift events but then again its more aimed for drag. So this is what I've come up with parts wise, what do you think? Anything I'm missing? I'll compare this and my RB25 goals and do a little pros and cons chart, lol. This is for the swap if I choose to do so-

dont forget the crank collar to check it, and also your going to need a new water pump, tensioner and idler pulleys and also remember you have to use the rb25 flywheel with the rb25 clutch and rb25 starter, either an rb25 oil pan or modify the rb26 one wich is the path i took i have an rb25 oil pan modified already for the rb26 that i can sell you for $125 and its brand new its just modified. but other then that you pretty much got it all just to let you know its expsensive ive already sinked about 13k into my swap and im still not quite done yet im waiting on my tax return so i can get the remaining stuff i need.

I'm assuming this will be almost impossible to find but to double check, how rare are R34 N1 turbos?Well the RB26 and all will cost me roughly 15k, but the RB25 will be around 10k. So, I'll search some more but it seems like the RB25 is in the lead.

you can find them on ebay sometimes, you might have to get on the austrailia ebay site to find some used ones but there going for around $800+ used so you might be better off just going aftermarket.
