What's up everyone. I have been reading this board for a while and because of that and the guys at ka-t.org I have built my first KA24DET. Bye bye GSR-T hello torque!

So here is my setup so far:

SSAuto Tubular Topmount manifold300ZX T25 Turbo, Int GatedWalbro Fuel PumpGreddy Type S BOVCustom 3" downpipePrecision IntercoolerHKS Coulpers and T-bolt clamps4' -04 AN braided oil line with a .065" oil restrictorCartech Adjustable FMU300ZX Fuel filter

Oh for the guys who keep cracking their SS mani's weld a support flange on the downpipe that bolts to the transmission and your mani won't crack.

Ok so I am use to the Honda MAP system, not a MAF so I have a few questions in general.

Q 1 ) I have everything installed and it runs pretty good right now other than it wants to stall a little when I drop the RPMs quick. For instance putting it in neutral and coasting up to a light.

Q 2) In order to get it to accel smooth I had to advanced the dist almost all of the way with the FMU set at about 8:1 ratio. This worries me - in a Honda you can't advance the timing AT ALL or you are asking for a quick death under boost.

I tried leaning the FMU out and retarding the timing but it won't run smooth past 4000 RPM. It starts to sputter. The boost is at 6 PSI. Is this normal? Also at 9 PSI set this way it is it starts to knock.

Q 3) My power dies after 5200 RPM is this normal? Could it have to do with my timing? If it is normal what is the best method to get it to breath/make more power on the top end? Gasket port head, JWT cams?

Feed my brain oh KAT tuners! I got some smack down to lay on a few SR's in town.

Thanks!

if I had to guess why your turbo falls on it's face, it's because the T25 is so small for this block.

It's well outside its efficiency.

I spoke with a few people at turbochargers.com and sfp.net and they seemed to think that it would be ok at 6 - 10 PSI. After studying a few KA DYNO charts on the net it seems that most peoples torque dies off after 5500 rpm. So I guess my motor is responding normaly.

One thing I did notice, that when I rev up the motor then let off I get a rush of air the pushes out of the compressor intake port. I am sure that the MAF is reading the air twice when in blows back out. Can't be good for the AF ratios. That is probably why it wants to stall when I drop the RPMs quick.

I think that I am going to move my MAF to a blowthrough setup to fix this and to fix the recir. of the BOV.

Thanks
