Hello all,

Initially I wanted to buy a RWD G37 sedan, but after quite a bit of reading and asking around I have came to realize that I may be better off with AWD (I am in Canada). That however reduces my budget - so I will probably go for the AWD base model.

Has anyone a G37 (or G35) with the base stereo? How is the sound quality? I asked the dealer I have been to two days ago, and he said all he sells is the upgraded (Bose) stereo - so he was not sure...

Any experience / comments would be welcome!

I'm no 'sound' expert but, my 17 and 20 year old boys say it sux. All I know is the trunk seems to vibrate and I'm constantly playing with the bass because the door speakers seem to vibrate as well. Feel like I can't crank it up much at all. We had the dealer check the trunk (we also had this problem with a Maxima and they put some kind of a padding in the trunk) Infiniti said they didn't hear it. ??

Hope this helps a little...

Thank you - that helps. I wonder if it is easy to upgrade the base stereo? I am not sure if I can spend the extra $4K for the premium package (and I do not need moon roof etc. anyway).Has anyone done this?

The hard drive alone is worth the upgrade. You'll never need to listen to the radio again. You can bring your entire CD collection with you.

Are you looking to buy new or used? I'd recommend buying one year older and getting more goodies.

I was looking into getting new. I have about 80 GB worth of music, and as far as I know the 2010 model can accept a USB drive. So I could have a small harddrive with ALL my music... Now that would be nice...

I do not really trust used cars, as I do not know how the previous owner treated it (and I know that one CAN kill an engine - I have done it myself in the past ; fortunately it was before the warranty expiry, so the car was fixed under warranty )

Since my budget is limited (I originally wanted to get a fully loaded Mazda 6, when I discovered the G37) I will most probably go for the base car.

Buy a used G and save a lot of money!

I paid 22k for mine 06 2 years ago... and I love it!

I let someone else take the 10k dollar price drop in the first 2 years and then get the same car anyway!
