If I swap an SE hatch onto my base model 240, how can I wire the rear windshield wiper to work when I switch on the front ones? Has anyone else done this?

nope...the rear wiper works off a seperate switch on the dash right underneath the gauge cluster. And it probably has a relay for it too somewhere behind it.

Well do you think it is worth the cost of a hatch, the cost to repaint the hatch, and the time to properly wire the switch for the rear wiper or would you guys say screw it and invest in a functional rear defroster instead?

functional rear defroster and wiper have different tasks. I think rear wipers are a little ugly...but thats just me

True they are ugly but they do a lot of good! I hate not having one on my winter car!!But dorifkin is right there is a seperate switch for the rear wiper.I'm not sure if this will help out or not but the relay for the intermitant wiper function for the front is a green box located in the engine bay on the driver side close to the fire wall.

Hope this helps a little!

I shaved my rear wiper.. I hated it. Mine was loud and annoying and I always caught a glance of it in the rear view. Ah they suck..
