i hate it when people say gay or ghey. and hella really got its popularity from all the Mr T vs 'insert person, place, thing, or metaphysical idea here' comics and stories. He would throw people hella far. That was about the extent of that word I could take.

People who use the word "uber" piss me off. :D

Some of the popular urban slang wouldn't be so annoying if it wasn't used by everyone and their grandma. I was over at my parents' place the weekend before XMas in Williamstown, Mass. This town has a four-digit population and looks like your typical Norman Rockwell 100% white suburban township. So I was shopping when this Abercrombie and Fitch wearing Topher Grace-lookalike comes up to and tries to drop game with "yo shawty, hook me up wit dem digitz yo. Let's go chill at my crib and crack open da crystaaal." :rolleyes I was fighting the urge to tell him to eat dung and die....slowly.

People actually use that stream of crap in real life as a pickup line? Damn. I was hoping that was isolated to rediculous movie and TV characters.

I do use the word tight though. But I've been using that in various forms for years, way before the current crop of tyte l33t folks.

Is that how it's spelled?

I was driving home from school today , and I saw a license plate that read, "3133T".

Yeah... I was hoping someone would note the sarcasm of that post.

I didn't see WOOT on this list but then again I'm blind

Woot would be a good candidate for a banned word seeing ya'll want to ban most of the words that were started by the online gaming community

It's hard not to notice, biting sarcasm hurts. :D I thought it was genius.

But yes, white guys speaking in Ebonics makes for a nauseating, skin-crawling experience.

And on another note, I've been up to Gorham a few times on my way my aunt's in Yarmouth. Autumn in Maine and Vermont is breathtaking.

Definitely! Former girlfriend of mine lived in Camden, Maine. I used to drive up from Boston, MA (and later from Salem, NH) and take in the sights every autumn!

I only make it up there for the summer (Maine). We stay out on the water just outside of Portland, on Basket Island. During the summer everything is picture perfect... I think it'd be lovely to see it in the fall.

In Kansas, the leaves change color for 2 days, then a big wind comes and we're left with nothing but sticks for the rest of the year. :D

most rap based slang words usually get annoying (I think it's from having it shoved down my throat from those damn white suburban kids, though it seems a good bit of the little bastards are now wearing GC's "made" shirt and neck ties...)

so far we have:

Woot, WERD, Pwned(in all its leet forms), 90% of leet, typos such as teh, Bling, all the izzle, bounce(philly term), rollout, NAWS, DUBZ, TYTE(all forms), dog, fosho, holla/hollaback, ghey, uber.

I'd like to suggest we add 'sori' 'bori' and 'dori dori' to the list. Those words are only used by REALLY cool people.

I am so glad you brought this up. I hate this word so damn much. It drives me insane. Hanging around a lot of gamers doesnt help either.

I would argue that it's even worse when white GIRLS do the same!

Indeed!

I should really update my profile. I actually moved back to Vermont this fall. I miss Maine for a lot of reasons, but VT is my real home. We should plan a NICO meet for the fall somewhere in northern New England. It is truly a beautiful place any time of year... but you're right... autumn is the best!
