Bandwidth Issues

What are possible solutions to these bandwidth problems?

We use phpBB over on Mini Portal and it works fine. But we also dont have as many members, only about 20 active members and maybe 200 total member. just thoght i would throw in my $.02 in

i dont think taking away pics that are linked to othersites affects the bandwith at all.. maby on the user side but not for the server.. its just linkin it...

I am one of 4 people that run Speed-Society.Com and we actually used vB for a while, and we switched to phpBB, after a couple months because we were having too many problems with vB. Personally, I like it better, and if our database hadn't been destroyed, we would have been able to save all the names and threads, but that import function is definitely nice to have.

We did see a small bandwidth drop, but our forum isn't nearly as big as NICO, so the drop here would probably be 100x what ours was.

Anyway, theres my two cents.

What motivates you to go out of your way for this slovenly bunch of car enthusiasts (myself included)? It warms the heart! Whenever I try to log on, and I get that 'bandwidth limit exceeded' message, I have symptoms of withdrawl. Thanks, monarch, for supporting my habit!

Doesn't VBulletin produce activity logs? These would help tremendously. Other VBulletin sites with very liberal posting rules don't seem to experience overloading as much as NICO.

Haha, pretty graphic there Hitman....

Hopefully some of my suggestions towards personal web pages and member fees will be looked at.....Then we would have the funds to pay for a larger bandwidth amount.
