I bought a single Rockford 12" sub in a bandpass box from a friend. I also got a Rockford amp from him (200W I think). This setup was in his 4 dr Accord til he totalled almost a year ago. I dont have the specs with me (I havent even looked at em) but I shouldnt be too bad for my first system.I dont have my 240sx yet, so I wanna throw this thing in the back of the Escort for now. I'm still reading up on how to wire the sub and amp, but I dont think I'll have too much trouble with that.My bandpass box looks different from most that Ive seen. Its ported on the sub's magnet side of the box, not the sub's 'face'. How does this affect performance??This pic (belongs to someone on NICO) is basically a dual version of what I have.

It doesnt really affect much at all. The speaker has the same air mass movement on the front as it does the back. Sometimes people install it this way to look cool, or to install a sub in a box that does not allow for a sub's large motor structure to fit. You shouldnt have any problems.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that was a pretty dumb question.I have a 2 channel amp thats rated at 120W RMS and 200W peak in mono (bridged) mode at 4ohms. My sub is rated at 200W/400W peak at 4ohms. SO this should be a decent match. How do I hook the amp up to a factory radio without preouts??
