I watched about 5 hours of this tonight on the History channel. I just couldn't turn it off.....it was too damn interesting to stop watching. It just makes you see the hell that those men went through and the sacrifices they made for their country. World War II is just so amazing and fascinating.....just think about how the world would be today if these men didn't make the sacrifices they did. All I know is I'm greatful for them and all the men that have served or died in any American war throughout history and currently today.

*edit* I really shouldn't ***** about the hardships I have in my life(hw, girls, etc).....I'm not hiding in a fox hole, having shells exploding near me, watching my friends die within feet of me, being shot at or having to kill other men so they don't kill me.

I have the box set. It is great. My favorite part of the movie is when they are in Germany and one guy says "Hey, this is just like Holland, except the trees arent exploding all around you." Or something to that effect.

I can watch it a million times and never get sick of it.bud

One of my favorite war movies. It is an absolutely emotionally wrenching experience. I don't usually get caught up in the whole mini-series thing, but from the very first episode on HBO I was hooked.

I got the box set off Ebay for about $50 I think. It was a brand new set... never opened... and worth every penny. It's something every war film buff should have in their collection!

I'd try to hit up ebay for it or something...

it's retarded expensive.

I wonder if some of the sales go towards a WWII memorial or something...

It's expensive but well worth it. Best mini series ever. Can't even describe it... the acting, cinematography, and emotion it draws from the watcher is just amazing.

<-- war movie junkie.

I've seen the whole series at least 4 or 5 times. Saw the whole thing on HBO, bought the box set when it came out, and watched it on the history channel when i was away at college. Even though I paid full price, it was well worth it.
