I live in the Columbia area and I was thinking of setting something up because I haven't really found anything locally yet.

I'm from more around the Frederick area, but I wouldn't mind meeting you guys around. I'm having a hell of a time trying to find stuff locally, but I'm trying to get the owner of a non-operational aluminum smelting plant in Adamstown to let some friends and I use it for driving. Also wish it wasn't so darn hard to find mechanics courses or 240s around here. But hey.

Let's get a spot, and then let's set a date. It's obvious we don't have anyone that wants to take control and get everything together.

I'd be glad to set something up, problem is I don't live as close to Baltimore as the rest of you and I don't know a whole lot about cars. If I ended up doing it, it'd be somewhere in Frederick or Washington County and I'd still need a lot of help from the rest of y'all.

Anyway, Alcoa contacted me and said to talk with the plant owner directly. Fine. I'll probably get a response from him later this week, but we'll have to see on that. I'll let you know if that goes through. Here's an aerial of the plant if you want to see it:

Well, that fell through, unfortunately. Guy was worried we'd break s*** even after I assured him we'd be careful. Seriously, there's more than enough space. Well, anyway, I'm back to looking for old mine roads and/or abandoned industrial plants, there are a few in the area, but if you guys want to get on a map program or search for 'em, be my guest.

Wait, Columbia as in Howard County? Ah, okay, I thought you were from Cumberland in Allegany. Got a bit mixed up there. Didn't look much at Howard, there might be some stuff there to take a look at, plus it's closer to Baltimore than the places I was looking at around Hagerstown. I'll search around and see what I can find.

I think you might have been a bit misunderstood. You know I don't drive a 240 right?

I've found two new potential locations, I'll talk to the owners this week if I can. One's the old Essoc Clay Refinery and the other's a lumberyard near Monocacy Battlefield. I like the former better since it's a little off the beaten path, but I'll have to see what the owners say. Don't want to get your hopes up in case I epic fail again, so I won't post pictures.
