Alright, just bought my second 240 looking to do the rb20 swap for the s13, car has the ka24e in it as of now and just does not cut it. My last 240 was ka24de and still wasn't enough i live with my mom have a decent job and am building my 240 before i even thinking about moving out. Idealy i would like 12psi of boost on the rb20 car background isn't the greatest but i learn fast. big question was if you get the tophat mounts for the s13-rb20 i dont have to get the r32 cross member right? and going from single cam to rb20 are there any Big issues i'll have to look at clearance wise, the car is my daily and i dont want to rush it but would only like to have it down for 2 weeks tops and be really prepared for the swap. i have a friend who is giving me an extra single cam wiring harness and plan on sending it off so any kind of post would be helpful, thanks for Reading

search man. do a few hours of it and have all of your questions answered.

I'd advise you bought a COMPLETE motorset, with uncut harness and ECU with all sensors. It will save you a huge headache.

im not sure about top hat but here are a couple choices of motor mount brackets where you dont need the r32 crossmember mckinney, syko, ruckus\zerolift with the zerolift you will need a aftermarket turbo elbow to clear the steering arm im not sure about the others

i have mckinney and didnt have to modify anything but the firewall (needed a little massaging)

its a fun swap make sure you have help, i did it solo and it took me two days, one day to undo/remove KA next day to drop in RB. waited another wek before i did wiring, lol.

you will need to modify powersteering lines or your swap and i believe youll need to get a dohc cluster.

do some searching, all the answers youll ever have can be found here. have fun

yeah i also read you can't recalibrate the single cam cluster, which is no big deal i mean as long as its in and running correctly which i feel pretty confident about i'll be golden. can mess with the piddly stuff on my down time, i just wanted to check for clearance. i need to start finding pictures of the rb20 to get an idea. but the swap wont be for the next couple of months

I wanna say No on the top hat, if you can, do an RB20 complete motorset or an RB25 Front clip

I may get shot at for this, but I haven't seen many posting up that they bought a new swap lately. Who is still legit to buy from? I have been watching egay for a 25 in the us from a private seller but no dice.
