Ive given Carlos heck about it saying Tie rods lol

Cant help ya on the ball joints .. never been there .. yet

I just had my front ball joints replaced. They are intergrated into the lower control arm (@ $190.00 each side), you have to replace the whole unit. The one plus from the whole thing is that the inner bushings are replaced as well because they are part of the control arm unit.

FYI if you have a press you can replace just the Tension rod Bushings for ALOT less

how would one go about doing that with a press?

Press the old bushing out , then press the new bushing in !!

The rod itself should be fine unless it somehow got bent.

so heres what i apparently need for my J...both inner tie rods @ 241.87 ea, both other tie rods @ 64.46 ea, both lower control arms including ball joints @ 258.70 ea, tension rods @ 222.86 ea which brings my grand total to just under $1600....put in a call to Joe and Leon @ everythinginfiniti.com and they quoted me @ $1200 shipped overnight...so much for doing my shocks and struts right now...oh welll...my point im trying to make is everything infiniti is the way to go for OEM parts!!!!

I just replaced the full rack & pinion unit which included the INNER tie rods & it was $350.00.

Where did you get the rack? also was it as easy as it looks in the manual to change.

You buy the new bushings take the rods out and bring them to a machine shop and they will R&R the bushings for you . I have access to a hydraulic press and did my own, it took close to 5,000 PSI to get the old ones out. The procedure is in the manual.

That's what my shop I take my car to charged me. tHERE ARE 2 bushings for the rack that you might as well replace them while you are at it, I think they were @$25 a piece.
