as the title states.im going to try this.

balancing the wheel with the wheel spacer/adapter bolted on teh wheelto see if they will balance out.. to help stop vibration.(unbalanced wheel feel)

in theory.. it should work my theory is based off of somewhat limited knowledge tho

Don't you need to bolt the adapter/spacer to the car first and then bolt the wheel to the adapter/spacer? If this is the case you would need to take the adapter/spacer back off the wheel for the install. This would make your balancing job pretty much useless since you changed the positioning of the adapter/spacer in reference to the wheel.

well.

I would put the spacer and wheel on the car without rotating or changing things too much.it wont move too much going on teh hub since the lugnuts center it.. and there hub centric..

ill just have to be careful and try not to change too much when putting it back on.

if that makes sense.

i know this may seem stubborn.but ill try it just for the hell of it.since it will cost me nothing.

my problem ismy wheels are balanced.but around 60 + it feels like unbalanced.

its the spacers but i thought if i could balance the wheel with the spacer bolted on the wheel it could help..

its worth a shot.i think.

if not.. ill have to roll with stock again.cuz i WILL be selling the horribly fitting wheels they only fit good with spacers.

honestly, I dont see how the spacers can cause an imbalance unless theyre warped or something... but if they look straight to you... then yah, I dont see how that can be an issue.

How worn out are your tires? If you balanced your wheels with worn out tires and they still wobble wobble around 60mph... you probably might just need new tires. Theres not much you can do with worn out tires.

my alignment is really badand has pretty much eaten out the inside of my left tire and outside of my right.

their Yokohama parada spec-2s

still a good bit of tread om em tho... other than the alignment caused wear.

could that type of wear cause that sort of imbalance?

if you think balance is the root cause a good wheel and tire shop can balance tires on the car

this is why I won't run a wheel that requires a spacer or adapter, it might cost a bit to have wheels made but I've never had balancing troubles

yes.. big time.

I'm kinda in the same boat, lol. Camber = uneven wear... so I flipped my tires to save some cash... now its super unbalanced (even though I wasted money to try to balance it). I just learned to never travel at exactly 60mph haha...

You and I both need new tires.

This thread is quite interesting....

I've never had a problem besides when my studs started stripping That was bad.

But over the time i've had my spacers on, I didn't really notice vibrations. And my wheels weren't even 100% balanced. Supposedly if I wanted a good dynamic balance, the weights would have to be placed on the outer lip... but i said hell no so they did the static which is less accurate. I'm no pro at balancing but it sounded odd.

Another thing you might want to look into is your hub bearings... if you haven't had them checked out, you should. Spacers do increase wear on them and maybe the spacers are pushing their limits at the moment. Crud and dirt can contribute, or just being 10-15 years old and at the end of their time.
