put it on a cookie sheet. If you don't and you put it on the grids it will melt the light

i could but...i could make them myself thx though. i've decided to go with ebay clear/red and replace stock bulbs with led bulbs - might look cool. unless i can get some altezza's cheap and get clear lenses off those, than diy something.

straight led lamps wouldn't last long on my car without me having to resolder them all the time anyways - i drive a lot on gravel/rocky roads in the mountains beating the crap out of my car. just wish it was easy to make an awd conversion...maybe someday.

Um i dont know why you would have to keep resoldering them? My tails on other cars have been on for 2 years and still going strong. Done right you wont have to resolder. I know i havent on mine and i do alot of racing road and drag.

i've read a few comments from some guys that had problems with the led loosening but maybe they just did a crappy job soldering. but it's not unique anymore kzoosh, everyone gets them lately...here's what i though about making but decided i'm too lazy : make a mold of the stock lights, fill in with resin and let set, cut out horizontal holes in them and put led bars in. when painted body color it would look like there's no taillight until the leds come on. 4 rows of these, no chrome though: http://store.vehiclelight.com/2504450cbz.html

Seriously? Have you seen his setup? kzoosho is a madman with LED's. I want him to do my Q, but I am a poor man. If you could, save the money and have him do it.

excuse this mini hijack but kzoosho how do you swap in led's into tail lights? as in do you just put them in place of the stock bulbs then creat the pattern which you want? have you done a write up or have any pics of you doing the process?

I have never done a write up. But what i do is bake the lights apart, remove the reflector and make a template for the boards. From there you design your layout and circuits. Not all that hard but theres alot of time in it.

it's easy man, if i did it you can do it and i've seen kzoosho's led work but...if you all get led's from him my car won't look any different i like making things myself because it gives me that feeling of pride when i'm all done...even if it doesn't last long.

since we're a little off topic anyways, what's the difference between a mig and an arc welder? i've seen both cheap at lowe's and the wire is fed internally on either. and pretty cheap.

Yea i always encourage spare tails. That way it gives me time to finish them and you still have your car. And The tails do make the car look different. A whole lot different.

SO you are telling me that my cars dont look different?

Sorry to hear about the tail light brother. Heat gun is the way to go. Sorry I missed your op to comment before you started.

I have and will never use a heat gun. Its uneven and takes longer. I have yet to melt a light in the oven.

they didn't melt or anything, just that 95 tails are non-clearable. oven method works great and is fast...plus i didn't have to buy a heat gun that i wouldn't need for anything else.
