Well, after letting the car sit for a while and even on a battery tender, the Optima decided to give up and only charge up to 7.92V and 19CCA ... yeah, you read that right. I spoke to a rep where I bought the battery back in January 2011 who said they will forward the info to Optima and it should be covered under the warranty. Unfortunately first I have to wait for them, then I'll have to send it to them and wait for a replacement ... couple of weeks maybe? Bah. Puts a damper in my plans as I was looking forward this passed weekend to firin' her up. :tisk: Just venting. :frown:

You don't have anything you can steal a battery out of to get it running?

Its over two years old. Optimas are excellent batteries, but even they wont last forever. I am sure optima will take care of you. While your waiting to hear from them, keep the battery on a low amperage charge. Not a tender that charges at tenths of a volt, but something in the area of 2-3 amps. Many times the slow charge will burn the crud off of the cell walls

Yeah, I could temporarily steal the battery out of one of the other vehicles, but that would leave my wife very unhappy and me without a daily driver, LOL! Anyway, like I said, I'm just venting a little. :gapteeth: A buddy of mine may bring over a new battery just to get it powered up and run through a few program settings on the EMS. We'll see ... it's no big deal and I'll just wait for the new one unless I get bored this weekend, haha!

I have bought 2-3 at Advance auto, the last one died after 2 years and 10 months. Has a 3 year warranty, they replaced it with no questions.

It always sucks to have something get in the way of having a bit of fun with the car :( My nemesis has been cold, rainy weather.

Oh, let me count the ways or should I say number of things that have got in the way of me and the car. The main contributor being financial ... 1 kid in college, 2 more going this year. :ohno:
