holy ****!!!!!!!! i saw one of the most badass supra's ever tonight. me and three of my friends were cruising our bikes(Jeremy 2001 r6 with D&D s/o,David 2003 GSXR600 with yoshi s/o,Charles 2002 YZF00r, and me 2003 r6 with two bros full system) down the interstate tonight and this white supra with exhaust, rims, lowered and some gauges inside. very very clean looking. anyway it pulls up to david and revs but david won't race and then jeremy pulls up next to the supra and revs at him. so jeremy drops to 5th and they take off and are even for about 5 seconds and suddenly the supra just blows right past him. jeremy catches back up to him and revs then drops it to 4th and they take off with the exact same outcome. i couldn't believe that supra walk away from a 10 second bike at 100+ mph so easily. i am sure he was sprayin but still it had to have been at least 9 second car. sorry it's so long i just wanted to share.

Damnit, that is the bike I want and I am most certainly not a woman

Given it is not a R1 or Busa but it is a sweet bike. :boxing

Busa is big and nasty and fast as hell. Gixer 1000 is an instrument of evil. Also, Gixer 750, 3rd gear, jump on the throttle and watch your rear tire turn into a cloud of smoke, 4th gear, full throttle and flip your bike onto your head and die. It is my belief that a sportbike can take down a streetcar from any speed, be it 5mph rolling start or a standstill, or even freeway speeds, operator skill and willingness to visit jail are the only questions.

My bad dude! I should have said: "600's are for women and skinny dudes."

Seriously, I was just kidding. I did learn to ride on a 1200cc HD though...

Eh, i really dont think bikes are all that much of a challenge against a well tuned turbo car.

ive seen a 300zx TT walk away from a busa on the highway from 100 miles an hour and the rider had beenr iding sice he was 13.

supras high end is flat out insane. a 12 second supra most of the time will trap oer 135 miles an hour... doesnt a busa trap around that? someone with supra running 10s and trapping over 150 miles an hour. dont really think a bike woudl be a challenge on the freeway.

unles its the turbo busa that rolls aroudn ehre occasionally :D

Anybody catch the article or footage of the Gixer1000 walking all over the Z06 ?? gixer hit 0-100-0 before the Z06 hit 100mph.

sorry for the thread whoring, but the Busa is NOT the 1/4 king. it is the TOP SPEED bike. a factory gixer1000 is capable of 9.5 sec.... the gixer750 is also sub-10. i have witnessed this.

pretty much all 600cc sportbikes run at least high 10's except for maybe the cbrf4i which runs low 11's. i doubt the supra would have won without puttin the squeeze on because the r6 was just barely pulling away before the supra sprayed.

my cousion runs bracket racing with his gsxr-750 and he dials in at around 9.8.

chrispy has proved my point. besides, a 9 second Supra would be unusable on the street. not to mention a little spendy. where else can you get more bang for your buck than the local suzuki dealer(or any sportbike dealer) ??

10K(maybe more, maybe less) can buy you a sub 10second weapon, or it could buy you a built engine for your car. either choice isn't bad, but i'll take the bike.

Sportbikes rule cars as far as cornering, gas mileage, and acceleration because of weight. Maybe 1/4 the HP of a fast car, but 1/8th the weight, the physics isn't that hard to work out. The article where the GSXR1000 owned the Z06 'vette was in either Motorcyclist or Cycle World, although thinking about it, I think it was Motorcyclist. Once you add enough aerodynamic and traction enhancements, cars will outrun bikes, but stock for stock, even street-modded car for stock bike, the bike's going to rule. (This assumes we're all talking open-class one-liter sportbikes, Aprilia Mille, Ducati 999, Honda 954, Honda RC51, Kawasaki ZX-9R, Suzuki GSXR 1000, Suzuki TL1000R, Yamaha R1) and if we're talking quarter-mile times, a slow bike runs 13s, most 600cc sportbikes run low 11s or high 10s, and the liter-bikes can run well into the 9s And yes, the big Gixxer is an instrument of SATAN:devil it will high-side you into the next county if you don't know what you're doing at all times.

Oh, and if we want to get spendy and insane, there are some crazy cajuns putting helicopter turbines in everything down in Louisiana, and they'll cobble together a bike with refurbished 300+hp helicopter turbine for you (Top speed at Bonneville:255mph) cost $100,000, and I'll stack that up against a McLaren F1 and it's 10X cheaper!

yeh that bike is insane. All these bikes miteymax talked about are a sure way to get me killed , thats why i am sticking to the HD softail. At least i have the mindset to just cruise and not race everywhere.

i agree miteymax86. stock for stock any 600cc and up sportbike is going to kill any stock car. i'm sure there are a couple out there but i can't think of any 10 second cars produced and i am almost positive that there are no 10 second mass produced cars. if u want to go fast for cheap there is no other way to go than a motorcycle but they can be lethal if ur not paying attention all of the time.
