Bad Turbo??

OK when i got my sr back in December the turbo was locked up but after about a week on the car it broke free and the other day while i was driving home the car started to like studder while driving in fourth gear but would go right back to normal a second or so later..It also does it once and a while just taking off in first or second but if u let of the gas it goes away and is fine again for awhile it feels as if the turbo is not spinning freely..It's my first turbo car and can not think of any other reason it would feel like that...Oh and there is no smoke or anything like that either

Anyone have any idea's opinions? Want input from some of the knowledgeable people on here any input would be appreciated just want to have an idea before i order another turbo..

If your turbo was locked up at any point then it needs a rebuild or a new turbo. The bearings sound like they are shot. And your bearings can go out without the oil seals going out. So it makes sense that its not spitting oil. Pull the turbo off and check for side to side and front to back play, also check to see if your compressor or turbine wheel made contact with the housings. It is generally inadvisable to run a turbo that has been seized at any point.

Thank you Franken, that's what I thought I just wanted to make sure before I went and did anything it's my daily driver so I did not want to just order anything and have it sit around for awhile i can't afford for that to happen...

Also one more question that might be somewhat dumb but a ca18 T25 will bolt right up to an SR right? or am i wrong?

Yes it will but the ca18 t25 is a joke. That would be a downgrade, they arent as good as the sr turbo.
