Could you be more specific as in describing what the truck is or is not doing? What makes you think it's loose?

After 50k+ miles, it's certainly time to replace the belt anyways. If the belt is squealing, it's probably the belt.

There is aT.S.B. for a new belt and tensioner for 4.0 liter trucks and an adjustment on pulley alignment.

it only used to do it on cold mornings during the fall and winter, but it squeals every time i crank it up and it does it for a good while now. i'm a n00b in these forums so what's a T.S.B?

TSB: Technical Service Bulletin.

NM50 is a Nissan Tech by trade so he would be one of the better sources of advice for your issue. Check into it at your local dealer as TSB's are usually covered by the manufacturer.

That is exactly what my 4.0 truck was doing, twice in fact. Both times it was the same problem -- the TSB has taken care of it for the second time so far (knock on wood).

99% chance it is the TSB.
