Well im leaving from a friends one night to head home and i noticed my steering wheel felt loose. I do some hard swerving and the car doesn't respond to good and there is some play back and forth in the wheel. I decide ill just go home and check it out in the morning, well there was snow on the ground and an empty parking lot so i play around then head home. While following a concrete barrier in construction it quickly takes us from one lane to another, i turn the wheel but im still going straight so i quickly turn it more but i hit a little ice and it pulls me into the wall. Its just a little scrape but i pull into a parking lot and it takes a lot of strength to turn, the pass. wheel is also very toed out. I drive it home anyways, jack it up and nothings bent or broke that i can see. The next day i take it to my friend and he gets it on a lift we still see nothing wrong but its still hard to steer(or my friend likes to explains as anti-power steering). So we decide we will be replacing my steering rack. Well it just so happens later that night our other friends steering goes out after hitting a bump or pot hole (he drives a stock coupe).Anyone else have steering problems lately? And how much do you think a steering rack will be from a salvage yard?
