Recently took my car in for a couple of small issues. First one was a leaking seal on the passenger window. Second, the driver seat doesn't latch correctly. Lastly, there is a slight bubble on the passenger side dash airbag.Originally when I took it in for the evaluation, the service writer told me that all three things would need looked at and are abnormal. After dropping the car overnight with them, I returned to a different story. They said the seal was fine on the window and the regulator was the issue. They replaced the regulator. The seat was deemed "same as a new 09 model" and nothing was done. The bubble in the air bag cover was also "same as a new 09 model". I realize that two of the three things are minor and hardly worth worrying about, unless they get worse but the airbag one is what chews at my hide. They can visually see the bubble, took pictures of it to "submit to Nissan for approval of repair", and said they could feel something hard underneath the bump when they felt the dash with their fingers. My question (or rant) is what and how should I push to get these things corrected calmly? I don't want to waste another trip to the dealer, only to be told a different story each time I go.

Anyone else dealt with these clowns before???

If you use the search, type in the word Baker and search to "post bodies". You'll get a few comments from people who have dealt with them. Not too many, just a few.

Bought ours at Baker Jackson North but really did not like their people too much; rather arrogant. I have been taking ours to Mossy on Old Katy Road and they seem much more proficient and nicer too. However, ours was just declared a loss from the recent Houston flooding so we no longer have it. The water came up pretty high in our cul de sac and flooded the Versa and our 2005 325i. The Bimmer is ok, but the Versa is gone. Just bought a 2006 VW Jetta which is what my daughter wanted to drive after looking around.

That said, if convenient try Mossy. Fred

Fj - sorry to hear you lost your Versa. I enjoy mine and would miss it dearly. I will take your advice and try Mossy next time. Don't have a lot of confidence in Nissan service for a while, so I'll wait some time before my next attempt.

Concord - the seat back-rest sometimes slips back a notch or two after adjustment. It also latches diagonaly sometimes and then the back-rest is tilted one way or the other. Annoying and dangerous.

hey fj did you have CAP with your car loan? totalling out a car is bad news....always like to argue with you so don't go anywhere. also you have been helpful so that's always good and good luck. one thing though......unless you get a tdi vw those cars are worthless....just my opinion.

I am not sure what you mean by CAP, but State Farm was very very fair and now is such a good time to buy a car that we came out better than ok. The Versa was paid off. We had two VW's when we lived in Norway and they were completely trouble free. The car is certified pre-owned so we have another 1 year of factory warranty and two years more of CPO. The car drives great.

I will hang around. Let's not call it argue, but friendly banter! Fred

it was either called GAP or CAP but one thing about that insurance, the dealership rolled it into my loan so i had to fight with them to cancel it later. Dealers are scmucks plain and simple. i hope this car lasts because i hate to go to dealerships. they make you feel cheap if you don't buy extra stuff.

Gap insurance. I believe that will cover any difference between an insurance payment and the amount owed on a car. With these dealerships, one has to keep saying no over and over again. When we bought the 2006 Jetta last weekend, I told the salesman to not even bother to try to add anything on to the car such as tinting, undercoating, extended warranty etc. I would walk out if they tried to slip anything in. Firm but nice. Turned out to be one of my smoother transactions; unlike the Baker Jackson dealership the OP was discussing. Fred

I feel as if the thread has been hi-jacked.

Anyone else have issues with this place?

... as if that has never happened before! On behalf of Grogman and myself, our humblest apologies.
