Ok guys, I've been pushing to get my RB going and finally last saturday I drove my 1997 240sx (previously auto) RB25DET S1. I put it in reverse backed out of my garage, then made it about 100 yards down my driveway, the instant I hit pavement it died and I was left stranded in the middle of the road.

Here's a little background:

Earlier that morning the motor would not start, the fuel pump ran endlessly; it wouldn't prime and shut off. I was getting fuel to the cylinders, but the motor wasn't firing. Everything else seemed to check out ok. I looked to the relays next, and once I replaced the eccs relay with one I knew was good, the motor started up and ran fine.

After driving, and thus dying:

Same problem as earlier this morning only this time in addition to everything else I found that the ENGINE CONT. fuse was blown.

I have not since tried to replace the relay, $10 at autozone is a little much to keep replacing. Is there anything else that I should check out? Something has to e causing the relay to be going bad, any suggestions?

The closest I've come to finding a solution is discussed in this thread:zer...age=1

From reading the thread though, it seems that darius wasn't getting fuel, which I am....also, my motor has ran before, this sounds like it was his first time starting it up. Any and all help is as always appreciated.

Did you do the wiring yourself? If so, what guide did you use? Sounds like you have a short in your harness somewhere that is blowing your fuse. Especially since it ran before. Did you ever figure out why your fuel pump was continuously priming?

Ok, ECCS Relay has four wires coming out of it..

One going to pin #16 on the ECU which is the ground. One going to pin #58 on the ECU which is 12V backup. One going to pin #49 on the ECU which is your relay switched 12V.One going to a 10A fuse, and then on to a common ground with several components, including most notably: ground to the Fuel relay.

From what you are describing, it sounds like your fuel relay is not getting grounded and shutting off the pump, and it's backfeeding into the ECCS relay and blowing your fuse.

I'd say start with the fuel relay and check your wiring for shorts or lack of a strong ground. Also check for pinched wires or wires shorted.

I know it's not a "concrete" fix it answer, but hopefully it will get you started. Do you have an FSM or at least some wiring schematics/diagrams to reference?

Thanks for the help guys, I'll cehck out the fuel pump ground. As for the wiring, it was done by McKinney, and I do have all the FSM's so it shouldn't be to hard to track down.
