After sitting for 2 or 3 days, I started up my 92 Q. I heard this loud and scary clacking and clicking sound from the front area, not sure if it was under the hood or underneath.

After about 10 seconds, it faded away completely. Only once before have I heard this, on a 91 Q45T I test drove that had been sitting for two weeks.

I shut off the car and started it again, the sound was still gone.

Is this normal when a Q sits for a long time? I recently switched from Mobil 1 5W30 to Mobil 1 10W30. I tried 5W just once to see what would happen, and since nothing seemingly improved I switched back.

Probably just some lifter noise from oil being drained down from the heads...... Once there was adequate oil pressure, it went away......

Yeah... it's just a dry start. It's why your not supposed to let a car just sit.

All of my Nissans at one time or another has had some startup clatter (sr20de), what I do if my Q sits for a while is I actually pull the fuel pump fuse and then crank it a few just to get some oil in the top end before I start it, dont konw if its any better than just starting it but thats my lil method.:)

Isnt that bad for the crucial and expensive fuel control module?

Not at all. I would add that pulling the injector fuse is also a good thing in addition to the fuel pump fuse, to eliminate any residual fuel in the rails from being allowed into the combustion chambers.

I just pull the injector fuse under the hood - no need to pull both... I wouldn't think a great deal of noise is normal. Maybe a little tapping for three or four seconds, but I'm afraid you're hearing guide rattle (was it more of a fluttering sound?) due to a bleed-down on the tensioners...

I pull both in case one or more injectors have any leaks.

Hmmm... never thought of that. Sounds like a good idea!
