Bad Pixels on 06 M45 Instrument Cluster

Well I went on vacation for one week, drove a slow poke Jetta and was anxious to drive my car again, and as I turned it on i noticed that the pixels on the cluster are bad. Has anyone had this issue? Anyone know of any fix besides replacing the cluster?

I wasnt able to post a picture but if you look at the portion of the cluster where the Gears display, the black portion has a bunch of small orange pixels iluminated.

So, not dead pixels, but stuck pixels? Sounds like a bad LED strip to me. Not really much in the way of a repair other than replacing the cluster. Maybe someone else on here will have a bit better insight into it (possibly a gauge cluster "reset" or something?) but in my experience, most digital things either work or don't. I'd see if there's an extended warranty on the pixels in the cluster. I know BMW does, because my friend just took his 1997 318i in and they replaced the cluster for free due to dead pixels. It's something worth looking into.

I'm afraid that the cluster will have to be replaced . I found used ones on ebay for $175 with adaptive cruise control. Anyone know how to replace this? Do I need to perform any resets?

i guess noone knows how to replace this. However, the bad pixels have now start to work consistently. I noticed that after a week of driving it, some of the pixels started working again and that trend kept going until now, and they all cleared up. A bit weird if you aske me.
