I'm wondering if I have a bad fpr. I set it to 36psi static, and when the engine is idling its 28psi. Once I drive it for a day, and check the idle pressure, it drops to 22-24psi. Checked the static pressure and it was 30-32psi. Bumped the static back up to 36psi, idle was 28psi....drove it for a couple of days, and idle and static had dropped back down. I've re-adjusted 3-4 times......fpr only has about 500 miles on it. Is this normal..or does it sound like it is a bad unit?

Stupid question i'm sure but are you positive that the lock nut isn't backing off thus being able to mess up your setting?

No, the lock nut is tight every time I loosen it to re-adjust the pressure

It's more than likely bad. These things go bad more than you guys care to know. It's an aftermarket fpr and there's no way of knowing it's really faulty until you start having issues like the ones you speak of. The only things to go after is the fuel pump and filter.

Pump is a walbro 255....filter is new, went in when the fpr went in. I'm guessing the fpr is bad, because I have had to re-adjust the pressure since the unit went in. On the OE unit, the pressure was consistent. On a side note....I thought getting the nismo fpr was suppose to be a better choice than an ebay crap ones because they are built better?Does Nismo warranty these? Like mentioned earlier it's got less than 500 miles on it, and i've only had it maybe 3-4 months

Probably depends on where you bought it, but it should have some sort of warranty.

Who said your supposed NISMO regulator is the real deal. Beware of the chinese and their ability to clone things . Hell, I believe I've been cloned as well, but who cares because I know I'm the original me . But seriously man, either invest in another one or change brands because if you're constantly adjusting, that's the tell-tell sign of a damaged, cheap and damaged or faulty diaphram.

i bought it from nismoparts.com

seems like i've seen several posts floating around that people say get the nismo ones because the egay ones are crap. Well hell, looks like i could of saved 40-50 bucks and gone with one of these and taken a chance....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Oh well....live and learn. I'll give nismoparts a call/ email and see what they tell me...total bs

Well, as expected Nismoparts is telling me that Nismo doesn't warranty their parts.....so basically it looks like I'm out $125

Could there be anything else in the fuel system that would make the set pressure change like it's doing? Fuel leaking past an injector o ring or something? How about the o ring on the fpr itself...could it of gotten pinched and fuel is leaking past it...or would I have an obvious leak if that were the case?

What other brands beside Nismo have people had good luck with?

After BSing back and forth with NismoParts.com they finally agreed to send me a new fpr, free of charge

Installed it today......we'll see if this one holds a steady pressure. What a pita it was to get the old one off with the head on the car....mainly due to getting the oe screws loose with the 2" space I had to work with between the firewall and fpr mounts. Took like an hour to get it off. I replaced the screws with bolts with the new unit......much much easier. Took about 15 mins to bolt it back up

I'm doing the same thing to mine since I have the intake manifold off of the car right now.

Let us know how the new one works.

Seems to be holding a steady pressure thus far......hopefully the old one was just a bad unit. I'll report back if the new one starts acting up
