Well driving down 101 I see light behind me, cop pulls me over the usual license, registration..blah blah. Then he ask "do you have any modification on this vehicle" I said "only exhaust sir". He goes back to his car, about minutes later he asks me to "pop your hood". Hes looking and looking he realizes my blow off valve, as he tried to find a "engine code" on my damn exhaust manifold. He cites me for 80 in a 65, then a referee. This was in the San Fernando Valley. Has anyone ever gotten one of these before and what do they exactly to(lift up the car, do any test)? If its totally not able to pass my next step would be to part it out Who wants to buy a ready to swap in SR for their Z

Ref stations are closed. Apprently their suppose to open up soon. But I'd try to fight this, go to court and tell them you TRIED to take care of it at the ref station but they were all closed and you couldn't do anything about it. Which is true since their all closed.

referee is closed, which is good. I believe they are sending people to local PD for sign off on referee tickets. I don't know how knowledgeable local PD would be but referee stations are looking to see OEM emission equipment like the day your car was built.

Man, I hope they don't start pulling this stuff in Atlanta...we already have emissions, but this pull over and check engine codes...yada yada...maybe I will etch KA24DE into my SR

a cop has no right to search your car without permission, if you werent caught racing and he cant see a front mount intercooler then he doesnt have probable cause. If he asks to see in your trunk say no, if he ask to see under your heard say no, if he does anyway and finds a illegal motor or a pot plant, go to court, it will get thrown out because the cop broke the law. probable cause. he must see something in your back seat to want to check your trunk, get it?

^^^^ Actually not, apparently, having gauges visible, or gutted car, modified exhaust, it already probable cause in California. Plus do NOT say no to a cop if he ask to pop your hood or look inside your car. Things will go much worst for you. If you cooperate they will usually be a bit more lenient.

well probable cause is a gutted interior and big mufflers. but you can say no to a cop. they can make it a horrible night but it can only go so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqMjMPlXzdA
