My ca18de croaked tonite. Went to beach to chill, then I went to the store. On the way i hear a clicking, so i turn down the radio... yup, loud clicking. Loud clicking. At the store i check the oil, add a quart (looked somewhat low). Doesnt help, i try limping home... car steadliy losing power and the ability to run. Finally i stop forcing her to run when i smell burnt oil.

I got towed home abut 10 minutes ago from posting this, its 9:50pm now. I have now two dead ca18's sitting at my house. I dont have the money to combine them, guess ill be getting a beater car in the meantime.

Looks like my det will be coming apart and be getting inspected sooner then later. Ill have it all checked out by a shop for cracks and whatnot. wish me luck since the belt broke on her 3 months or so back.

Guess the car is hibernating for the winter

but, i refuse to junk the car. nope... i will be living in it at a scrap yard before i let it go. So, the pulsar will live again. CA's forever! (or something)

Without opening her up and inspecting, i dunno what else it might be. the whole motor was rattling, i could feel it in the gas pedal and shifter. Lost virtuly all pickup before i shut her off, but she still might turn over.

Sucks dude. Rebuilding a CA is totally cheaper than getting a beater though. I dont know about you but driving mine in this cold weather is freaking awesome. It goes like craaaazy!! Get you some new bearings, rings, and a complete gasket kit. Use det block with de head and det peripherals. BOOM working engine. I bet it wont take you more than a weekend, which it is now, so get to it.

what does all that cost? cause i have a few bucks saved for the clutch i need too

Not to mention i need a new exhuast...

Honestly, i though just putting it up for the winter will gimme the chance to disect it right.

anyone want a de block?
