Well bad news folks. I think that poor little T25 let go this morning. At least I hope it was the turbo. Otherwise I just blew the rings! But I'm pretty sure it was the turbo. I still had decent power and the car was running fine, I just started burning A LOT of oil. There was a car behind me when it happened, I felt sorry for the guy, he couldn't see and had to turn on his headlights! So I guess my car is out of commision for a while. I don't have the money to fix it right now and I don't wanna put that S14 Turbo I have in there because one of the blades is messed up. I have a replacement blade, but they were going to have to charge me $275 to put it on, and since I paid $250 for the turbo, I didn't think it was worth it. I'll probabally put it on ebay and try and pick up an S15/skyline turbo and be done with having to buy turbo's. Darn the luck...

You could do a compression check to make sure it wasn't the rings. Also pull the intake pipe and check the turbo for shaft play. If it's pretty bad you know what happened.

I'm going to do that tonight. I already knew the turbo was bad. I don't have a BOV so I know I was tearing it up, About a month ago I started hearing (what I think was) the blades rubbing on the housing. I'm about 90% sure it's the turbo.

i agree. compression tests dont take long, and the intake pipe buisness is even simpler. 275 for a rebuild doesnt sound so bad..if it is a full rebuild your talking about. get it rebuilt at http://www.timsturbos.com ($275) and you get a 1 year warranty to boot! kick the **** outta that thing and he fixes it for free.

hey ryan, I have some rings if you want them... they're sitting at nissan... I ordered them and headbolts, but they stopped making the gasket kit:( so I'm going to either send it all back, or sell it to someone who needs them:) I decided to go with that kit from the website you posted afew days ago!

Right now money is non-existant, so I'm going to hold off. Plus I'd really like to put bigger piston's in there. As for the S14 turbo, I have to get it back from the shop first. They're not very good at returning phone calls...

they never are. you think theyre bad, try huntsville's local import tuning shop, "performance import" took them a week and a half to machine a flange for my BOV. of course, they did an awesome job and they painted the intercooler piping for me at no cost, but come on, a monkey coulda made that flange in a day. every time i went by the owner, dustin, was not there. nice guy, but has the worst time management skills of anyone i have ever met. in his defense, he does know insane amounts about nissans and answered all of my questions about the car, though he had never dealt with a CA before. ok, im done. oh, and look on the bright side, if youre like the rest of us you should be getting an income tax refund soon. thatll help out. good luck

Well, new update: I'm an idiot. Althought my T25 does suck, it's fine...for now. What happened was I had a coolant hose break underneath the throttle body. Also, on the throttlebody, I somehow managed to leave a vacumm line COMPLETELY unplugged. Granted it was small, but still. So anyway, when that radiator line split, it sucked coolant into the intake and started burning it, hence the smoke out of the exhaust. Plus it was spraying all over the hot intake mani and steaming like mad there too. So in the end, it was all because of a 2" peice of radiator hose. Yea, I'm an idiot.

Heh, well easily corrected user error is much better than mechanical failure. I can't tell you how much stupid crap happened to me with my DSMs. I ruined an entire motor because I didn't tighten up one bolt. It fell out going 90 down the freeway. When I looked back and thought I saw a smoke cloud and said "Hey, does that look like smoke to you?", my motor seized up.
