my s13 is at it again, for a couple of weeks now when i have the clutch engaged and mostly when giving it gas the car rocks and shakes really bad. when i disengage the clutch it stops, someone told me it could be motor mounts, or the transmission mounts, but im not sure. another thing, when i start the car i have to pump the clutch pedal for a few minutes to get the shifter to go into gear. it is almost like there is no fluid in there, but there is fluid, i havent seen any leaking, and last time i messed with it i bled it, do i need to bleed it again? thanks for any help

the clutch, you need to check for leaks and bleed it well too. check for a good connection from the MAF and make sure it has a good ground, as well as a good signal and you can spray some brake cleaner in there too to clear out the MAF.

the gear shifter problem is more than likely the synchro not lining up after the motor was shut off. I'll have difficulty getting my car in reverse some mornings, but a pump or two on the pedal fixes it.

to check your motor mounts, have a friend rev the motor and look to see if the motor mounts seperate at any point. another idea is to get a jack under the engine and find a point you can jack up on the motor a bit and check for mount seperation

if all else fails, it could be a throwout bearing.

if the shifter problem is the synchros not lining up when i shut the motor off wouldnt it only do it sometimes? it does it all the time when i start the car and sometimes when i have backed up and try to put it in 1st gear i have to pump it several more times. ill have to check the maf and motor mounts in the morning, thanks for the ideas.
