Bad milage..no codes

I am getting around 14mpg. I know this can be due to the knock sensor, but I have no codes coming up. Should I bypass it anyway and see how it goes? Also, is there a diagram of where it is located?

When you say no codes do you mean you actually pulled the codes or you have no Check Engine light ??

What's the car's mileage?

Do you smell gas?Is there lag time on acceleration?Is there any vibration?

I had been getting s***-tastic mileage a while back, as low as 15. No codes, but I DID have a minor fuel leak towards the back of the engine above the plenum.

Ok, this is an odd one. After I posted this I went out and tried to pull up codes again. Well, I had the guys in the shop do it. Guess what?? PO325 Knock Sensor 1. and P0430 Cat eff below thresh bank 2. Why in the hell has this never come up before? The only thing that has been done since getting last reading on codes is that we changed my water pump.

Did the engine get Hot with the old water pump ??That can crack a 13 year old plastic knock sensor.

It was not getting hot, but leaking.

Do you guys know of a diag of where it is? I have an idea but I would like an exact.

Under the Plenum A real bear to swap out.Some peeps relocate it to the rear of the engine.

Do a search for Knock sensor in this forum and you should find the thread with pics.
