bad maf?

so i finally got my 240 running but now it is running like s***. it wont rev past 3k. and it idles real rough. could it be the maf? i posted on a different 240 forum and they said it was the MAF but i just wanna check again with you guys. anyone know what it could be or if it really is the MAF? thanks dudes.

It could possibly be the maf, but I had mine stolen off my car and It wouldn't let me rev Past 2.5k.

so i put the new maf in and it still does it. im not sure if it is wired in right tho because there isnt a plug it is just individual wires with connectors on the ends then they go on each prong on the maf. i connected them how it was when i took the old one off but maybe the previous owner messed up the order of the wires? im not sure. so im going to check each wire and see if they are all right.

check your injectors, my car wasnt running right and all my friends were telling me it was my MAF or TPS but turns out i had bad injectors.

ka24de. nope no afc. its all stock. i got the car like this. i was told it was rebuilt with only 3k miles on the motor.

how do i do that? is that different then checking a check engine light? cause the check engine light isnt on.

im 99% sure it's sure maf same thing happened to me except i had to get a new one

yea...definitely sounds like a maf problem. when i did my sr swap, it did the exact same thing. i ended up having the afc wiring wrong. check you maf ground make sure its getting connection all the way to your maf plug. check all the other wires, i dont remember what wire was what on the ka, but you can just make sure the wires arent broken. check continuity for all wires. go from the maf plug all the way to your ecu and even wiggle the wires while you do so just to make sure theres not a bad connection somewhere. im too lazy to look up what color is what and which maf wires going into the ecu. maybe someone can dig up a diagram to show all that stuff.

alright thanks. i am about to go and check all my wires right now. they look all jacked up and wrapped in electrical tape so something must be wrong.

A little off topic but what would cause the car to run like crap below 3k but run smooth if you are WOT? I have no partial throttle either. Could that be caused by a maf too?

ok so i checked all the wires and they all are where they are supposed to be and look fine. the car idles better now but still wont go past 3k. when im just sitting and not moving and i press the gas it just sounds like the car has launch control. and when im driving it will just jerk once it gets to 2.5k-3k. and it is also burning oil so like WTH is going on

alright that would be cool. i have the car up for sale. if no one buys it soon then i will prolly just fix it. i will let you know.
