Well,

I've had problem after problem and found solution after solution in this getting this engine swap a going...

I finally got the car running right...for about 30 mins...

I had a MAF problem, and I also had a temperature sensor problem that was making the car run like it was choked all the time. But then after 30 mins of idling just fine - A ROD starts knocking...

And two quick questions I couldn't find from searching...

#1 Rod & Main bearings the same from a Pulsar ca18?

#2 Is the Crank in a ca18 Pulsar engine the same?

Also my power steering pump knocks and it sounds exactly like rod knock. Take all your accessory belts off and see if that knock goes away...

In answer to your questions, Yes, the bearings and crank are the same. You shouldn't need a new crank though. If you stopped it quickly enough, the crank is fine. You've got to run a motor with a knocking rod for a while to damage the crank.

As the others said, make sure it's rod knock. What RPM do you hear it at? Does it come and go with RPM?

Ends up, since I tried a dozen times to get the CAS aligned w/o the dowel to keep it in the right slot that A LOT of gas from not starting thinned out my oil...on top of that my sump screen got clogged. So a combo of a couple of things caused it.

And yes it was a rod knocking, confirmed this after removing the oil pan etc...

Thanks, I've got them ordered from the parts store.
