well im pretty sure i have a bad leak of some kind somewhere and i feel it's getting worse. First off i added a gallon of gas to a empty tank today and the needle didnt move, maybe a little little bit but its still on the E, so with that gallon i wouldnt be suprised if i get 5-7 miles with that. Second i just changed the t-stat, water temp sender & sensor. Third sometimed my mom drives the car and when shes pulling into the driveway it literaly sounds like a airplane pulling up, its pretty loud. And finally will fuel injectors from a 1990 infiniti q45 fit my 1991 maxima because my dad has some that are working good? I also added some fuel injector cleaner. Also some1 suggested changing the fuel filter, i was thinking about it too but i changed it about 10-12,000 miles ago, is it time to change it again?

Hmm, what kind of leak do you think you have? if you're talking about a fluid leak, do you see fluid under the car after it sits for a while. Or are you talking about an exhaust leak? That would explain the noise and is not very hard to fix.

About adding a gallon of gas to an empty tank, mine does that as well. It's just because nissan gives you a 'safety' zone that's usually around 2-3 gallons at the bottom of the tank so that you fill up before you get too empty to prevent running out of gas. Putting one gallon in isn't going to move the needle no matter what, so you'll still get the normal 20-25 miles out of that gallon just like every other gallon of gas.

I'm not sure about the Q injectors, but I'm pretty sure they would be a bit too big for the max (meaning they inject more fuel) so you might want to check on that before trying it.

You shouldn't have to change your fuel filter after only 10-12k miles, wait until you put around 30k on it to change it again.

well nvm about the exhaust leak, the loudness is coming from the fans, lol, but i couldnt see any fuel leaking anywhere or no fluid on the ground so im not sure what is wrong. And 20-25mpg, lol i wish i got that much, i normaly get no more than 15mpg.

so like i said, i dont see any leaks around the motor fuel lines but i seen on another forum that maybe the rubber part of the fuel filler tube may be leaking & it is common on these cars. So i took a look and i can see the rubber part but cant really tell if its leaking b/c i havent put gas in & my tank is almost empty, lol. But ill let u know when i put gas in & check it. Also there is a plastic cover over the filler tube, how do i get this off, i see there is some kind of clips holding it but i didnt wanna pull it off & break it, lol.

so i put gas in today to check if the filler tube is leaking and its not, i let it sit for awhile with a piece of cardboard under it and nothing. Also i cleaned the part in between the plastic cover and filler tube, there was alot of buildup but it looks good. Also i asked in the previous post how to take off the plastic cover because i didnt wanna break it, well i couldnt wait so i took it off and yes it broke, lol. Does anyone know where i can get some more of the little clips. I have some of those zip tie things holding it, lol.

You should be able to take one of the broken clips into any Nissan dealer and get some from the parts department.
