bad ground?

I just finished putting everything back together after replacing the clutch and rear main seal on my ka. When i went to start it and it sounded like it was having a really hard time turning the motor at all. I made sure the battery was charged and even tried jumping it off with no improvement. I also tried starting in down a hill and it just wouldnt even fire then. I didnt mess with any grounds so i didnt think that would be a problem but its kinda acting like it. also, is it possible that it could be the clutch not working correctly? thanks in advance

your clutch wont make the car not start. check for fuel and spark and post back.
