bad gas???

how long does gas have to sit before it goes bad? my car was sitting a year before i got another KA in her and it has less than a half a tank of gas and i added some fuel treatment with octaine booster to her and i noticed the other day she smokes. so im thinking maybe its bad gas, what color would the smoke be from bad gas?

Disconnect the fule line from the rail and run the ignition. Change the fluids, fill her up and then see how she acts. Bad fuel, hm it tends to gel up, buring would still be fuel like and make black smoke. Also its time to replace tha fuel filter.
