Bad Gas Smell

I have a '90 Nissan 300ZX TT. I am smelling gas fumes coming from around both of the rear tires. I do not smell the fumes from under the hood or in the car (unless i am stopped with the windows down). I have looked on the top and bottom of the tank, at the lines and the spout going into the tank and and found no visable signs of any leaks.It doesn't seem that it is at any fill level that i get the smell but sometimes the smell is a little stronger if i take a corner at high speed. Though i get the smell regaurdless even if i drive normaly.

Any ideas??

slap a new gas cap on and see if the smell goes away

Does the 300ZX have an access panel in the rear deck to get at the fuel pump? If so I'd pop that open and check the fuel lines and O ring on the fuel pump plate.

I haven't tried a new gas cap yet. I will do that. I do howerver have a access panel in behind the seats. I have looked at the pump and the o'rings and see no leaks coming from there.
