HELP I am getting like 14mpg driving on country roads with my cruise control on.

taking of the car is real slow til it gets to a lil above 1200 rpm but its still slow and around 3000 rpm I finally pick up as for the top end well I got it a little aboive 80mph but it didn't want to go much faster.

sounds like you have a bad knock sensor. try putting a resistor in the connection that goes to the sensor and see if you have full power after the motor warms up.

what kind of resistor and where is this plug located ?from what I have been able to tell , the intake manifold has to come of for the knock sensor to be replaced is there any way to get around that ? Mechanic looked it up in his little book and its said its a 9 hour job .

search for knock sensor relocation on 300zx and youll find what youre looking for...i just went ahead and completely replaced the original knock sensor and harness in its location which was a pain to get to...had to pull both the upper and lower intakes to get to it...thats when i got the "while were in there we might as well..." bug...needless to say a 3 days and almost $2k later we were done...also just bypassing the knock sensor with a resistor is only a temporary fix...if you want it to be permanent and not have to mess with it where it is relocate it...best of luck to you
