Hello, new here, but not new to cars.
Basically, I've got a guy wanting to trade me his 240sx for my 92' Accord. Anyhow, I'm very interested and all good for it, but he suspects the car has a faulty fuel pump. This is how he described the problem...
"It start up just fine with a little pumping of the throttle. After that it will drive fine for a few min and start stuttering around 2.5-3k rpms and wont go higher than four. But here is the weird part. If u shut it off for literally 3 min it will fire up with no problem and drive absolutely fine for about 15 min and the stuttering comes back but not as bad as before. I'm concluding that the pump is overheating and not operating properly."
Sound plausible? If that's what the general consensus is, I can just pick up a fuel pump to put on it when I trade him.
