This started with a sound from the trunk area I thought was the speakers shorting. I checked the forums and found another with the same problem. then the sound stopped. the car sat outside the last few months...I havent driven the car due to the weather. I started it up yesterday and noticed a ruff idle but after it warmed up it smoothed out...I drove the car yesterday and it ran real smooth. today I started it up with the same ruff idle but its now running ruff. I drove it on a short trip and it has a slight vibration when you reach 55mph. runs ruff under a load going up steep inclines. does this sound like a fuel pump problem??? anyone else delt with this??

If it sounds like a swarm of bees in you trunk, probably fuel pump. There is much information here about replacing the pump and controller as a set. Check fuel pressure.

Could be a lot of things separately or together. Without a recent maintenence history, we are just guessing.

My guess would be condensation (no mention of fuel level while it sat, nor if buying patterns changed or recent weather, but presumed cold). Try a couple bottles of Iso HEET.

If you have the mad bees sound from the rear trunk area, then it is is a fuel pump. Don't fry your FPCU by continuing to drive. Verify by measuring fuel pressure.

I dont really notice the mad bee noise when driving(Ive driven it maybe 25 miles) but when this started and I first noticed it I thought it was the power antena. I got out and checked it out and it wasnt. The motor isnt violently shuttering but its almost like a really bad motor mount at all rpms. I noticed a salvage marker on the fuel pump where they write the year. Its marked 95. The fuel pump isnt buzzing anymore either.....I already changed the pump in the misses Q and then discovered it was a bad O2 senser plug...so Im very familular with the fuel pump change.Im very familular with the sick feeling when you thought you knew what the problem was and you change the entire fuel system from the filter back, start the car and its doing the same thing.the mad bee noise is present when driving if you listen for it now.it was doing this when you turn the ignition on to start the car.

The fuel gauge was at almost a quarter of the tank...recent weather was alot of snow which was the reason I didnt drive it and a sever temp. drop to about 8 degrees the last couple of days. now were up to about 55 degrees today. ISO heat,Is the yellow bottles right? how is ISO heat marked??
