So as my few posts have shown my engine is in the crapper,.. it still runs i just don't know for how much longer; hopefully it holds out 'til new years.

(just fyi its a '94 vert w/120K miles and pumps hot air into my coolant system)

Anyway, i want to swap for a SR instead of putting in a grand or so fixing my KA; not to mention my car is an automatic and i want a standard...

So, im looking at this http://www.jrautoparts.com/clip_nissan_s13_red.htm its a front clip from an S13 w/ SR and manual drive train.... what i want to know is: am i on the right track with this swap or are there other things i need to know...

btw if there's anyone in the denver, co area who can help with the swap i would greatly appreciate it (or even a mechanic shop who can do the swap if no one around wants to or can help.)

Even an easy swap like an SR takes a lot more work than you think.

That clip will have most of the things you need. But there will be a lot of little things here and there as well.

I'd find someone local who's experienced with engine swaps and ask for help.

You might try NICO staff member Bwana (Aaron Lowry). He's up in Loveland. He's a busy guy, but if you compensated him reasonably, he might find the time to help you out???

look at the engine swap kits they have at Heavythrottle.com, I think there is a link in the sponsors section. you need way more than an engine to do the swap and its def a whole weekends worth of wrenching with 2-3 friends. Good luck though, I say the juice is totally worth the squeeze.

well it seems that i'm going to be scrapping the KA for a SR w/ Manual Swap. that and some performance upgrades are gonna run me about 7K but its gotta get done soon.

Just a quick question for those in the Denver area: does anyone have any experience with MAC Autosports in Parker, CO? They're the one that's gonna be doin the swap (i want it done once and done right) and based on their track record they seem like good people.

RB SR

lol, just playing. I would personally buy a motor, tools, and some extra time on researching how to do everything yourself.

Get a digital camera and document your progress and constantly update a thread and people will pretty much walk you through, hopefully .
