Ok so I have had some problems with my i30 since i bought it like erratic idle, sputtering and what not. I took it to my local nissan/infiniti dealership to have it diagnosed. They had it for about 3 hours and told me that the ecu is bad and that there are communication problems. has anyone had a bad ecu before and if I get another one do I have to have it reprogrammed? I'm just hopin that after changing the iacv, knock sensor and now this $300 disgnosis that this is infact the problem.

Ask them if they can test the theory by rinning a known-good ECU in the car.

they said the only way would be for me to order one from them which would cost somewhere around 950 with installation, and thats a wholesale price through my job.
