I hate to check my oil, because everytime you put the dipstick back it seems to push dirt into the engine from that "dipstick guide".

I notice on the '07s, its right in front and in the open...so much more accessible.

I can't even fit my hand in to clear that dipstick guide.

Do they have a fix for this ?

I know exactly how you feel. I checked my oil one evening and missed the guide and didn't notice. Lost half a quart of oil, all over my engine bay.

My problem is that the dipstick never comes out clean. Pull the stick out, wipe it clean , re-insert it, remove it and then you should be able to see the oil level. On mine there is always oil smeared above the level mark - if that makes sense.

Yes it is the "Worst dipstick in the World" however I have discovered that the best time to check the oil is I roll my G out of the garage into the driveway on level ground & check it prior to starting the vehicle after it has set all night. This will give you a dip stick without oil smeared all over it & give you an accurate reading. If you have driven the vehicle let it sit for 20 minutes. Keep in mind that the L mark is two quarts low. Halfway between F & L is one quart low. When mine shows a 1/2 qt low I fill it to the F mark. This is usually around the 2000 mile mark. When new I used a qt per 1000 miles. After adding oil I recheck it on the dip stick after my G has sat for 20 min to a half hour.

Hope this helps.
