Ok lets see here...from the start. On Saturday I decided to sit and do a brake job for my baby; turn rotors, replace pads, re-lube, etc. Get the car up and off the ground, on jack stands and remove everything accordingly all except one rotor on the front pass. side that apparently loved my hub and couldn't imagine being separated. So I put a towel over it and give it a few wacks over the course of like....20mins!!! It came loose and finally took them for a turning and to pick up my pads, during which time it rained like the d!ck! Finished the job in the rain and took her for a drive...it stopped raining immediately after finishing ...

Problem #1Now I'm getting a mean shake in my steering wheel only when driving at speeds between 40-55ish MPH. Never while braking. Checked and got a full alignment and everything is fine there but the problem still exists. Replace the tires assuming they may be the culprit and still it persists...IDEAS?

On to the next yesterday morning woke up attempting to change plugs and wires, elementary work. Did the plugs first and got 3 of 4 plugs done. On the 4th(back of the engine) the S.O.B. breaks in the engine, enough to keep me from getting it out...UGH...but not well enough to keep the wire from going on so I put the old wires on and sputter and jerk my way up to BIG 10 to avoid any problems and get it done. $90 later for them putting on the items I bought, 1 plug 4 wires, I head home and prepare for work. Upon getting ready to leave Little Ms. Piggy won't even idle... ....Start:DIE...Start:DIE...WTH is going on? So I keep the car running by giving some gas...all seemed well at about 2.5k or higher so I race back up to BIG 10 assuming it my dist. cap coil and rotor. NOPE. They give the car back and now she starts fine...just idling rough and at like 1.1k, and has been running that way since.

Problem #2I dont even know whats going on here. Is this a fuel dist./pressure issue? Ignition issue?(I assume not, got a spark on all four and dist cap was fine) MAF? Has anyone ever experienced this or have any ideas?

Thanks for reading and any input.

maybe whacking on the rotor(with the hub behind it) bent the hub... Try putting a dial indicator on it with the rotor removed to measure runout on the hub( youll be putting a record needle(indicator) on a record(hub) and see how much the needle bounces(runout) while u spin the hub. if its too much, it WILL cause a steering wheel vibration, and youll need to replace the hub.... If the hub is rusty, that too can cause the rotor to not seat properly and also the wheel. so u wud once again get a vibration...in which case, u will just need to clean up both rotor and hub mounting surfaces and reinstall

I agree with him. As for the car turning on or off or the idling have you check the MAF? This happened to my 240 it was idling really rough and i found out that the maf was messed up. Picked up one from the junkyard and it runs like a champ.

Could my vibration issue be accredited to a wheel bearing on its way out? I've had a humm over there (front pass wheel) for some time and wonder if banging on the rotor could have simply made it worse. Plausible?

Yes a humm or pulsating sound is an indicator of a bad wheel bearing. Does it get louder when you turn at high speeds when weight gets shifted on to that particular wheel?

Yep wheel bearing.

I had a 2001 BMW 330i with like 60K on the odometer and after a road trip to Oregon and back to California my passenger rear wheel would make this pulsating sound woom woom woom and when cornering left at like 40-50mph it would get ungodly loud in the cabin but when I turned right and weight was distributed off that wheel to other side of the car it almost went away.

Problem #1 sounds to be solved. Due to the info provided by the niconauts.

Problem #2 I am testing another MAF as soon as possible.
