I went to the track on Tuesday to squeeze in some runs with the new mods before it closes for the winter. I have recently got the car running after doing t3/to4e 50 trim, sard 720cc injectors, custom fmic, custom piping, custom downpipe, emanage, ecu chip by Carl H, Q45 maf w/ Stillen pop charger, Tomie 260* 8.8 cams, Tomie springs, and port and polish. It was like watching the John Force crash from the inside, except the only thing wrecked at the end of the night was my ego. It was ugly! If it wasn't bogging down, I was spinning the tires like I was on ice. Once the motor got hot it would want to lean out and stall a idle. Tapping the gas was the only way to keep it running. I also noticed the boost would go all the way up to 15psi when the turbo spooled all the way up and then bleed down to 10 if I held the gear. I was launching around 5000rpms, anything less and I would end up no where near boost. My best run of the night was a 14.6 @ 97.8, which is down from my best run last year with the stock motor. That was a [email protected]. I'm thinking some of it has to do with the tune and alot has to do with the driver. Looks like it's time to admit when I'm out of my leage and get a tuner and some dyno time.

What are you using for a boost controller?

Sounds like a little tweaking with the e-manage and hunt down some boost leaks and you'll be close to twelves in no time, if not in them. I hope to run in the 13's with my rb20(stock) s13: fmic, 3" exhaust and AM performance downpipe.

Goodluck with getting here straightened out man.

The #1 issue I see is that your boost is not holding. What are you using for boost control?

I wouldn't be expecting great times if you're only running 15 psi of boost and are having traction issues. What is stopping you from running 20 lbs of boost at this point? You sound like you have the supporting mods for it.

What differential are you running?

I'm using the stock acuator on an internal gate very similar to the z31 wastegates. I have an in cabin bleed valve to control boost. As for the rear end, I have a r33 lsd. I had planned on 20psi but, stopped when I saw it wasn't holding at 15. I'm also running the stock bypass valve and have heard it's only good to 17psi.

Is the gear ratio in the R33 the same as the 240 or the J30? I am running pretty much the same setup and boost as you except lower compression pistons. My trap times are at 99mph with the J30 differential and all-season tires.

I haven't confirmed it by counting teeth yet but, I believe the one I have is the 4.36 out of the auto.

Hey man crappy to hear but my car is doignt he exact same thing...once the car gets hot it wants to stall out at idle and is very sparatic.Under load it is absolutley great but under idle it's acting the exact same as yours...we have talked about this before.

I am setup for 18psi but I am only testing at 10psi right now.

I haven't driven my car due to the issue which I was attributing to the rx-7 injectors being so fussy.Let me know what you find out and vice versa.....these cars need to live!!!

ive got an r33 gts-t auto rear end in my car, 4.36 ratio makes it insane to drive due to the acceleration.jdmster - i'll have a new image for you, my base maps got corrupted some how and i think you have one of the damaged ones...

Ohhhh really this is why you said you have a new image for me? That sounds awesome.

On a latter note my car was running real good but I however had to set the injector lag time to 164 (dec) to make it do so,also it is so rich under load it's SICK lol

Future Setup:Lag time 164 K constant 2

Thanks man, you think we could set it up for the 720s too. When I told you my injector size the first time I thought they were 660cc. Found out after having them cleaned that they are 720cc.

definately can scale it for that, that is a large percentage to be off 60cc's adds up.
