Bad crease in carpeting

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I noticed there is a bad crease in the carpeting on the transmission cover on the passenger side. If you pull up the floor mats it is especially noticeable and there is quite a large bulge in the carpet. It looks like shabby build work and I am concerned about the long term wear and tear in this area.

Can some of the other owners let me know if they have the same issue as I would like to know if it unique to my EX35. I had the telescopic steering wheel issue fixed so I don’t know if this required removal of the carpeting.

Thanks, Goody

Hey there and Welcome to the group!

I yet to see any carpet issues in any of the vehicles that have come through our shop. I would say the next time you are in the dealer I would show them the crease, getting the carpet replaced is not a fun thing to go through but if indeed that carpet is damaged then it should be replaced. Has this always been there or did you notice it recently?

Pics?

Thanks for the welcome. It's good to know we got some techs here.

There is a slight indentation in the floor mat almost indicating the crease is normal.

I'll try and gets some pics and post them today. I may also head over to the dealer and have them take a look and look at some others they have on the lot.

Thanks Again, Goody
