Ok just put a new motor in and I took it around the block. Was steaming from rad and hoses were hot as he'll. So I changed the thermo and got a koyo rad dual altima fans and a jegs dual electric fan controller. Well put it all in per instructions. It said to put one wire to + battery and another to a fuse that is activated when car is on. So I opened up the 30 amp fuse for ignition switch bu popping the top and tying the wire to the metal inside. So I take the car around the block and its acting like it has no pull to it. Egr and ac and clutch fan have been deleted and its the same intake mani that was on the last motor so I know that's not it. But when I get back its rolling steam from the koyo...what ccould it be? Also when I try to turn the jegs controller on to set it the fans don't turn on but the engine looses power. And the 2 hoses that go to the fire wall was the only ones I wasn't sure how they went so I just put them in their how they looked like they should go. The one nearest throttle body is in top. Im also having horrible idle problems. Its same intake mani as I had before so its not iacv or aadjuster screw. Please I wrote all this up I realy need help!

Its so hot it melted the plastic around the altima fan motors! What the hell could this be? Now it looks as if my lower rad hose has a leak in it because theirs a small amount of coolant dripping but that just happened.

Did you bleed it?

Headgasket was the problem. Never new that could cause cooling issues.

head-gasket was not the issue most likely, most-likely you overheated due to faulty component or getting air into the system and causing the overheating which then caused the head to warp letting air, oil and coolant to flow over the head-gasket. Basically what I'm getting at is that a known good head-gasket on a good surface, torqued properly almost never fail unless there is an external reason. Air in the system allows for coolant temp to rise faster and boil, a system that air free suppresses temp rise and raises the boiling point. KA engines are known to trap air and if you did not properly bleed it then this could be the reason it overheated.

Are you sure that you hooked the fans up properly? The altima fans are essentially 2 electric dc motors in one package per fan, there are 4 wires coming out of the motors, 2 are for one winding and 2 are for the second winding. If you put power to one winding you get low speed, and you if put power to both windings you get high speed, but if you hooked one up back wards,(one is trying to spin the fan clock wise and the other is trying to spin the fan counter clock wise) that would put a massive load on your alternator causing the car to be sluggish and feel as if it is lacking power. It would also cause the fans to get very hot and melt the plastic around the motors in the fans, and the fans would not be able to spin fast enough to move enough air to cool your car properly.

Or you got a set of fans that are a dud.
