I did a compression test on my car as well as my buddy's S14 today, i've suspected my #2 cylinder has had a problem for a while to checked the compression/pulled the plugs...

the spark plug for cylinder two was definately heated around the whole plug vs. the others, i have NGK platinum Rs (factory) and under 1k on em. the metal portion of 1,3,4 is greenish whereas the #2 has a pink tint...u can tell its been heated.

here's wat came up for compression numbers.

Cyl: tests, if more than one, the cylinder was tested again.

1: 155, 1552: 75, 135, 150, 145, 1503: 145, 1454: 150, 150

any insight on the culprit, i figure the valves may needed more oil from the first test... but could it just be a bad headgasket? any insight would help. Thanks in advance.

I find it strange how your compression built up in the cyl the more you tested it. I would think if it was rings it wouldnt build up. I have a feeling its something in the top end. either a bad valve or valve spring. try adding a little oil to the cyl(no more then a table spoon) and do the test again see if it imediately jumps to spec. If it does then I am wrong and you have a ring problem. otherwise it has to be top end. I really dont think its a head gasket cause again it wouldnt build in pressure.

If you have access to a leak down tester that would be your best way to locate the leak.

well, i already thought about the oil, if i can get the tester back from my buddy ill check that tomorrow, if thats not the case then my buddy's dad (BMW mastertech) can bring home a leakdown tester from work. I really hope its not the rings...
