i cant seem to get my rear calipers to collaps so i can install new pads.iv'e drained all the fluid, they are off the car, i tred to collaps them with plyers (big ones) , ive done brakes plenty of times, and always able to get them to collaps.Note: i had the rear jacked up and car in gear and running, so the tires were spinning, but when i held the brakes the rear still spun.....?So i guess they are bad?

You have to rotate the caliper piston to collapse it back into the cylinder. They make a special socket tool for it. It looks like a disc with to prongs comming out of it that you can attach on any socket wrench. I picked mine up at pepboys.

Sweet!, i got them to collaps but im wondering if they are still bad,Note: i had the rear jacked up and car in gear and running, so the tires were spinning, but when i held the brakes the rear still spun.....?would this indicate they are blown? Plus the boot on the piston is gone.

If i work the E-brake linkage the pistons extend...

Typically when the calipers go bad they seize in the "on" position and squeal like hell. I hate buying calipers. I had to on my car because they were so locked up that there was no getting them apart to rebuild them.

While changing my rear pads recently on the S13, both calipers died when we opened them.

I just got a complete set of 4 rebuilt calipers from a member on here for $125 shipped, deal of the century.
