So, yeah, I am still loving the crap out of this car! lol...

I cannot explain enough how fast this thing is... I read on Maxima.org that they did some kind of revamping or updating to the CVT for 2013, and if they did, it shows. This is the best CVT I've ever felt. Before getting my Rogue, I test drove a brand new 2012 Maxima SV Sport and there was a rubber-bandy feel in the CVT when driving slower at low speeds, but in this 2013 that feeling is completely non-existent. I've tried to find it and I cannot.

There is no rubber bandy feeling anywhere in the powerband that I can feel.... Each time you tap the throttle there is absolutely no lag, and there is instantaneous power. I'm just so happy with this thing.... As annoying as I'm sounding as I keep repeating myself lol.

So I may actually be wrong about the gas mileage. Sure I've been romping on it for the past few days, but today I decided to see how I could do mpg-wise if I was very easy on the throttle... So I got on the highway and set the cruise to 60mph for a few miles... On the highway it registered 42mpg!!!!

I got off the highway and took some Queens streets without too much traffic but a few lights and when I got to my destination after about 2-3 miles, it was showing 26mph.... I did some more driving on the streets with a bunch of lights, probably about 3 more miles worth and it showed 23.x mpg.....

Then I got back on the highway going 60mph, and it was up around 25mpg.... Then the highway got really congested so I took the streets back home... Taking the streets back home meant about 10+ miles of red lights..... Pulled up in front of my place and the gauge read 22.5mpg after all of that.

On average, no matter how I drive the Rogue I'm seeing 18.x-19.x mpg average, and in driving the Maxima very conservatively and light footed, I'm seeing 22.5mpg average!!!!! That is NUTS and now I'm really kicking myself. I can't remember the last time I saw 24.x or even 22.x mpg in my Rogue!!!!

the more HP, the slower it has to work. but there is a curve where it starts to head down hill. im telling you, my maxima had the same if not better MPG's.

So I finally got my car back today. Looking at the roof, you would never tell it was replaced. It looks great. The only thing that's different is the antenna. My original antenna was a hard plastic and this new one seems much more rubbery.

However, my two white emergency lights in the front aren't working now (I think they tugged on some wiring under the dash for some reason and I need to check that out), they damaged my rear retractable cargo cover (Nissan has another one on order for me at no charge), the inside is all dirty and dusty, and there is a loose change/key chain sound from around the passenger's seat area and the rear now when I go over rough pavement.

So I'm bringing the car back to Nissan on Monday and they will clean it, find the source of the noise and give it another once over so they say. I hope they come to the bottom of all this s*** because this is why I didn't want the car anymore. When you have to take half the damn car apart you're bound to have a shop mess up on something.....

**Pics to come**

In other news, upon cleaning out the Maxima rental, I found a used crack pipe hidden in the trunk. YES I'm serious! I was driving the car around for 16 days with a used crack pipe in the trunk! Add that to the 6" rusty nail that made its way up from under the driver's side floormat while I was driving with the potential of sticking me and the overall dirty/dusty interior and heavy cig smoke smell that they gave the car to me with, and the manager of this Enterprise eagerly waived the $2.44 per day out of pocket I would have had to pay for the Max otherwise..... (I have pics of the crackpipe and nail too!)

I guess everything happens for a reason.... We saved money on the rental anyway. Now I know to bring along a used crack pipe with me whenever I rent a car kinda like a roach in a restaurant, and they will hook me up with the price lol...I can laugh about it now, but if I would've gotten pulled over and searched for whatever reason (probably wouldn't have happened) the argument could have been made that I was "technically" in possession of paraphernalia. I was pretty pissed.

So upon driving the car today I have found that the white emergency lights up front work, the plug just wasn't making contact because they moved it, but the driver's side lower corner of the windshield is making a constant radio-static sounding rattle over any kind of rough pavement. Its not the speaker because it did it with the radio off too. Also, loud nasty sounding metallic like loose change like rattling coming from the rear cargo area. Also, the same sound coming from the pass. side around the lower dash area. Car looks nice though :tisk:

Thanks guys. Yeah that crack pipe was pretty crazy. I was going to post a pic of it, but I wasn't sure what the rules are on this site about stuff like that... I've got a few pics of it...

As for reception, its ok. There are some areas that it gets slightly less powerful and a little staticky... Which would be fine if it weren't such a powerful signal (like Z100) smack dab in the middle of its zone (Queens), so I am going to tell them to make sure everything is good with that as well I guess....

I'm bringing the car in tomorrow morning most likely. It just sucks because they want me to bring it in at 7AM and I get off the bus as 0030 tonight.... Oh well...

And my windshield has these weird streaks that I cannot scrub off on the inside or the outside... I don't know what the hell they did with my car while they had it.
