I own a 93 300zx na. i had this car for least 5 months and never had a problem with it till recently when the previous owner "fixes" shown their wear and tear.
after the car overheated it gotten a misfire on cyl 3, and after looking at the ptu it looks like the connecters were spliced to the wrong side. computer which is a 6 pin and blue from diagram, has a 7 pin plug and vise versa. would it be fine considering it been running since i had it? Also i took off all the electrical tap to view this and picture it.

IIRC the ground wire was on the computer side on all the Z PTU's, so the ECU sides always have 7 (6 controls plus ground) and the engine sides have 6 (one output for each coil). Looks normal to me, albeit very patched-up. The PTU certainly couldn't work backwards, it's an N-transistor array. Swapping the bases and collectors probably wouldn't hurt it, but there would be no function at all.
